Martha R. Hidalgo Morales

Innovation Facilitator & Researcher

 

Biotechnology Engineer by the National Polytechnic Institute, and MSc in Biochemistry by the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She worked in both academia and the pharma industry, in Mexico. She was the associated director and full-time professor of the Bachelor of Biotechnology Engineering at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Guadalajara. 

In 2017 she joined the Global Innovation Division under Prof. Hirami’s tutorship as a JICA trainee, and in 2018 she became an innovation facilitator and researcher in the same department at Hiroshima University. Currently, her research focuses on how the culture influences the innovation ecosystem and the entrepreneurial mindset, proposing new approaches to increase the collaboration between academia and industry, and promote international networking, specifically with Latin America. 

As a member of the G1PEC network, Martha authored the design of the brand and the creation of the website. She plays an important role in co-directing the team, organizing activities (pitch sessions), serving as a mentor and coach for students, and helping with cross-cultural communication.
